The process of development of village Master Plan and the Village Master Plan itself is an important document about the village which includes village land bank, village knowledge bank and a series of activities a village agrees to follow for proper protection and management of all natural and manmade resources and to prevent loss of life, livelihoods and property in case a disaster. It also identifies in advance, action to be taken by individuals in the community so that each one knows what to do when a disaster strikes or when a warning is received. The main objective is to empower the community to deal with disasters on their own as a way of life.
