The book is good as a guide book for a person entering as Disaster and Risk Management professional but cannot be termed as a handbook for DRM practitioners. It would be good to rename as An introductory guide to DRM professionals for Integrating DRM in URBAN PLANNING.  The book assumes that municipal bodies to function with absolute integrity, transparency in functional and financial management and for welfare of the citizens without any discrimination. The violation of municipal bye-laws and building norms in all the urban centres in India is a clear affirmation of the realities.
