The district of Cachar in Assam is vulnerable to the natural disaster like floods, cyclones, earth-quakes, etc. This needs a District Disaster Management Plan (DDMP) for Cachar District with a special stress on floods which mostly becomes a seasonal disaster. The DDMP is so planned that it can be pressed into action in case of any emergency, be it – natural or human induced.
