India has about 20 per cent of the world’s animal population, but good grazing lands are practically non-existent, thus exerting enormous pressure on the limited and shrinking land and water resources.           The major constraints relate to fodder, feed, healthcare, genetic improvement and conservation, processing and value addition, remunerative pricing and marketing.
